Media Studies is a fascinating, rapidly changing and growing field. The internet and the digitalization of information have driven media to new horizons and will continue to do so.
The Media Studies program is an excellent choice if you want to understand how the media works and how to apply your knowledge in practical training. As a student of Media Studies, you will enjoy personal attention in our small and interactive classes. During your studies, you will be able to develop your own style by gaining hands-on experience in media production or writing under the guidance of our dedicated faculty.
The curriculum of our media major includes internships, guest lectures, and visits to media organizations. Students complete their degree by producing an academic thesis. Recent examples of student work include video documenting of UN and other conferences.

How Long Is The Program?
A bachelor’s degree consists of 128 US credits. Most students take four years to complete their undergraduate degree. However, Webster may award up to 32 credits of advanced standing for a variety of international curriculum including A levels, IB, AP, VWO, Abitur, and French BAC.
Our degree program is designed to prepare students to apply and adapt their writing, speaking, and research strategies in changing media environments.

I chose to study Media Studies at Webster Vienna Private University because of the practical work experience that the professors have in their fields. In the classroom we are not only learning theory, we are also expected to put knowledge into practice and create our own projects. This complementary approach to learning has allowed me to explore many areas in media communications and equip me with a set of skills that will be useful in any career path that I choose in the future.
